What is an included tooth?

All teeth should erupt, appear in the mouth, but this is not always the case. In definitive dentition, when dental eruption is delayed for more than a year, an X-ray is indicated to rule out whether there is agenesis (the tooth has not formed) or an altered eruption direction.

Wisdom teeth (wisdom teeth) and canines are the teeth that are most frequently included.

It is important to detect an included canine during the child’s facial growth, to easily correct it with fenestration and orthodontics.

The included wisdom teeth can cause repetitive infections (pericoronitis) due to lack of mandibular space to erupt. Removal is advised.
